More importantly, Mars Evacuees is a smart story with genuine main characters (human AND Morror alike), logical (familiar yet also uniquely refreshing) worldbuilding, and a plot that will appeal to readers of ALL ages because it is that damn good a story.   Mars Evacuees is a major departure from the Romanitas books Sophia McDougall debuted with; science fiction of a rather more straightforward kind (as opposed to her alternate-history/SF work) aimed at children or young adults (as opposed to the less-age-marketed trilogy of tomes).       From bestselling UK author Sophia McDougall comes Space Hostages, an intergalactic quest full of humor, adventure, and, of course, aliens! This hilarious middle grade sequel to Mars Evacuees is perfect for fans of Artemis Fowl and packed with nonstop fun.   Mars Evacuees is full of wit, action, humour, triumph, diversity and homework. It is superb and I cannot wait to get started on the sequel. Oh, and as an aside, to the publisher who rejected Ms McDougall’s Mars Evacuees on the grounds of featuring too many girls in space, really?. You missed out on a fabulous book/5(27).
